Choir!!
Will still welcome all with a love of music and singing to join them. Rehearsal time is on
Sunday at 11.15 am, after the 10.00 am service.

AV Team. We need volunteers to run the slides during our Sunday services. Team members do
not make up the slides. Our job is to push the computer key to advance the slides through the
service. We also run the camera when the service is live streamed. Basic computer skills are all
that are needed, and there is one on one training and step-by-step instructions to help. Please
contact the office at stjudeslondon@diohuron.org

Outreach

Breakfast Program It was a beautiful fall day last Saturday when we served 134 breakfasts.
Do you wonder what happens to all those clothes, footwear, toiletries, household items etc. that
you donate to the program? Stop by on a Friday morning before the Saturday breakfast and
you’ll find a group of volunteers sorting through everything and getting it on display for the next
morning. Clothing is inspected for wear, cleanliness, and whether it can be used now or stored
for another season. If not suitable for our program, it may get moved to the Nearly New Shop
or Goodwill and in some instances, it may be thrown out. It is not unusual for our team members
to take items home to wash.
Household items are put out on tables and then covered. The covers are not removed until 9 am
to ensure more that more folks than just the early arrivals have a chance to pick something up.
We give thanks for your generosity. The next breakfast is Saturday November 15th from 9 to
10:30 am. All are welcome!

St. Paul’s Foodbank
Our next time to donate food for St. Paul’s Foodbank is this Sunday, 9th November.

An appeal from a parishioner:
On June 9th, 2024, beautiful St Anne’s Anglican Church, in the Little Portugal area of Toronto
was destroyed by a terrible fire, along with the priceless interior murals by Canada’s Group of
Seven artists. It was a designated National Historic Site not only due to the artwork but for its
unique Byzantine arches.
The parish has remained open to serve their diverse downtown community. Architectural plans
have been drawn up to rebuild and restore the church incorporating the exterior walls and front
façade which remain standing.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by a parishioner which has reached 50% of the
$100,000 goal. For further information about the plans for St Anne’s visit GoFundMe Toronto:

Fundraising and Social

Fundscrip: Rick advises that due to a company reorganization, he will not have your cards this
week.

Men’s lunch will be Tuesday November 18th, at 12:30 at the Alibi Roadhouse.

ACW meeting Wednesday November 12th
All women of the parish are Anglican Church Women whether you are actively involved in any of
our church ministries or not. Please join us for our monthly meeting in the St. Martha’s room at 12
noon for a brown bag lunch and fellowship. The business part of the meeting starts at 12:30 and
usually ends around 1:45pm.

BAZAAR BOTTLES NEEDED The Church Bazaar is on Saturday November 22nd, and we
need bottles (preferably full ones). The legendary bottle table king, Derek Shadlock, has passed
on the mantle this year to an admiring, but menial, peon of his. Dennis Johns (under the
supervision of his bride) is the bottle table dude this fall. Show mercy on him by donating wine
(or anything else…condiments, anything consumable but hard liquor or beer). Donations can be
dropped off at the church office.

Learning Together

Baptismal Living: “I will with God’s Help” A Deanery of London sponsored event
A series of workshops offered online, to help us remember the promises made at Baptism. We
had hoped to watch as a group at St Jude’s and then discuss. Unfortunately, for the 1st session
Kevin and Sharon had personal conflicts, and the 2nd session conflicts with Diane Beedle’s
funeral. Please register for the sessions (they are all recorded and can be viewed later). Kevin
and Sharon are still hoping we can gather for the last three sessions, or watch online at home.
To register, or for more info, contact lisawang@diohuron.org.
