Blessing of the Animals went well last Sunday, a little chaotic but no accidents, and the animals
behaved well too!
Choir!!
Has resumed, but now with a new rehearsal time, Sunday at 11.15 am, after the 10.00 am
service. All you need is a love of music. Please come out and sing with us!
AND, Festival Choir rehearsals have also begun. We will be learning a special Christmas
Cantata to perform on Sunday, December 21st
at the 10:00 am service. Please consider trying
out the Festival Choir as we learn music for this special occasion. No choral singing experience
necessary, just a love of music. Hope to see you there!
Outreach Ministry of the month for October is St. Paul’s Foodbank, plus of course
our own Breakfast Program.
St. Paul’s Foodbank
Our time to donate food for St. Paul’s Foodbank is this Sunday, 12th October As is usual, they
will appreciate pasta noodles, canned meat, canned soup, pork & beans, peanut butter or
jam, mac & cheese (especially!), toilet paper, granola bars or oatmeal for kids ….
Faithful couriers Laura and Doug Fairbairn will take your gifts to the cathedral on Tuesday, since
Monday is Thanksgiving.
FundScrip. Rick will be in the Narthex this Sunday between the services with your card orders.
Breakfast Program
142 breakfasts were served this past Saturday morning. Some folks are waiting when our
cooking team arrives at 7:30 am even though we start serving at 9 am.
The early friends help by putting out the signs and help with any other tasks as needed by the
team.
The team did the summer / winter clothing turnover this past week. Please remember us when
sorting your winter gear – clothing, boots, sweaters are always welcome. Thank you for ongoing
support – please join us for coffee at our next breakfast Saturday October 18 from 9 – 10:30 am.

Nearly New Shop now has a great assortment of winter clothes available for all ages.
5 Km Run / Walk Sunday October 19th– raising funds for our Breakfast Program.
Please join us on Race day or support a walker oot5!. Make your donation on line or give
directly to one of our participants. We thank St. John’s for their willingness to include us in their
major fundraising events this year. More information is available on the posters throughout the
church. Your help is needed now! Please share this information with those in your community –
your dentist, lawyer, florist.
Members of the The Lost Walkers team (Ruth Best & Cathy Rice) will be in the Narthex this
Sunday with pledge forms available, if parishioners wish to donate either by Cash or Cheque .
Alongside Hope (PWRDF) now has its Christmas cards available to order. Go to the order form
on the Alongside Hope website. Two different cards are available, in packs of 12, for each of
which a minimum donation of $25.00 is needed. Proceeds from Alongside Hope Christmas
cards support their programs all over the world.
Dinner!! The beef dinner went well last Saturday, and once again we thank Derek Shadlock and
his team for this great and valuable effort!
Happy Birthday this week to Frances R, and Michael M. (Both on 6th
October), Mary G. (7th), Don H. (8th), John B. And Mary Lynn H (both on the 9th)
